Jason King Part II: A Food Photographer's Ultimate Day of Dining
12 May, 2020

In Part I of our feature on Sydney food photographer Jason King (read here) we discussed the state of the Sydney food scene; where our city’s dining scene has been, its current state and where we can expect it to go. In part two Jason details his favourite dining area in Sydney, as well as his ultimate foodie day-out.

What is your favourite geographical dining area in Sydney and why?

This is a really hard question, and it is almost a tie between Newtown and the Sydney CBD. I love walking down King Street and eating at all the known venues; La Favola, Flour Drum and so on. However, the CBD just wins on the basis of versatility. There is so much on offer there, and it’s all over. There are so many good Korean BBQ joints that are spread throughout the CBD. Ho Jiak is a favourite of mine, and of course the big celebrity chef venues are there; Bennelong, Quay, Hubert, Mr. Wong. Then of course you have the burger greats nearby like Bar Luca. You could eat at a restaurant a day in the Sydney CBD and not get through them all in a year.
